I think DC Blog might be given a much higher rating, given that David Crystal is Britain’s leading linguist and has done so much to spread knowledge about the nature of English throughout Britain and the world.

Yep, I’ve checked the vocabulary exercises and agree with Thomas. They are great and for free!!!
However, Jonas already mentioned tools like this which together with time, dedication and maybe a (fair;) language exchange can help a lot.
But then, I can understand Jonas’ desperation. Sometimes it’s soooooooooo hard to motivate oneself.
Why is it so difficult? Why can’t they put Italian fluency on the menu of my favourite Italian restaurant?
That would be so easy. You have a great dinner and when you go home you are fluent in the language you like…
To all the language lovers: Hang in there!!

This list is arbitrary, and so are the responses to it.

Japanese learners find it easy to read and write Mandarin/Cantonese because they share a writing system. They struggle with pronunciation because Japanese is not a particularly tonal language.

It’s possible to make similar points about any “X is easy/difficult to learn” statements that you care to make. As the article states, family relationships between languages make a big difference to how difficult they are to learn.

What matters most when learning a language is motivation and quality of instruction.

But you forgot about one way of language learning:

Go on bab.la, register, do all the language quizzes, games and vocabulary lessons, and you’re save to book the next flight abroad.

Oh, don’t blame me if it doesn’t work out. Har har!

eee tam, a Pirate Bay, to niby gdzie działało? W Polsce? Nie przesadzajmy z tym biciem się w piersi, Francuzi, Niemcy czy Włosi tak samo piracą i to może nawet na większą skalę, bo u nich internet jest bardziej rozpowszechniony. A z drugiej strony wytwórnie muzyczne czy filmowe też zachowują się absolutnie niemoralnie, próbując wyciskać pieniądze z utworów za wszelką cenę, nawet wbrew zdrowemu rozsądkowi. O tych wszystkich ZPAV-ach, Stoartach i ZAIKSach nawet nie wspominam, to jest już całkowicie skompromitowane towarzystwo.

Stumbled on this list quite recently and it has led to a fascinating journey into all sorts of new areas. Only one problem: all these blogs and posts keep me from the day job. Anyway, congratulations to all involved!
