Clothes sizes: US vs. Europe

Among many size systems used around the world there’s also one called European, although unfortunately it’s not common for all European countries (as the name would suggest).

As among others Italy, France and Great Britain developed and stick to their own systems. In Europe American sizes such as S M L XL etc. are also commonly used.

Here are tables for men and women’s sizes for tops, bottoms, and shoes… with the corresponding US sizes. Unfortunately, sizes may vary from store to store and it’s very difficult to find exact equivalents.

Men’s

When it comes to tops (shirts, t-shirts, sweaters, etc.), one can find both systems in Europe, the one with letters (S,M,…) and numbers (see below).
