May 20th, 2013 | By | Category: Français

5 Things to know before visiting France

May 20th, 2013 | By | Category: English

If you don’t have any plan for your summer vacation but you are looking for a unique experience in fashion, culture, wine, foodand stinky subway why don’t you go to the funny world of the baguette called France.
France is the most-visited country and attracts around 80 million visitors annually: do not look for a quiet period to visit the Eiffel Tower; it does not exist. Despite that, who does not love French people? (When they are in a good mood and not saying bad words, of course)

Travel into the Alps; General background information about the Valle d’Aosta, pt. 2

May 16th, 2013 | By | Category: English

As we already said in the previous lexio, the Valle d’Aoste is the North-West of Italy with an average altitude of 2.000 meters e 1% of the country’s square.
But why do I write about this small and meaningless region? Apart from being my home, I would say that it has been really important in the past due to its pass which allows people to get to Switzerland and France within few hours (by feet).

Viaggio nelle Alpi; informazioni generali sulla Valle d’Aosta, parte 2

May 16th, 2013 | By | Category: Italiano

May 14th, 2013 | By | Category: Svenska

An Expat’s Essentials: Not Your Regular Guidebook Vocabulary

May 14th, 2013 | By | Category: English

All you really need to settle down abroad is four phrases. I would have given you five to make a regular-format list, but let’s not be superfluous. This is the ultimate list of the vocabulary you really need:

Un giorno a Venezia

Jan 23rd, 2013 | By | Category: Italiano

The experience of a Canary islander in Hamburg

Dec 11th, 2012 | By | Category: English

My personal experience in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, located in the Northern part of Germany, has been outstanding. I have always believed that to have a positive experience in a foreign city several factors have to converge: you must have a mutual symbiotic relationship with the city, you must learn their language, culture, background and traditions and meet new people and build strong friendships.

La experiencia de una Canaria en Hamburgo

Dec 11th, 2012 | By | Category: Español

A romantic visit to the toilet?

Dec 6th, 2012 | By | Category: English

After moving abroad, or moving further south in Europe, I have noticed my friends’ stereotypical image of Norwegians. Believe it or not, but most people I meet have never been to Norway, never met a Norwegian (before they met me), or in fact been to Norway. However they sure have a stereotype about Norwegians. We are, according to the majority, a funny little bunch of blond hikers with bad manners and woolen sweaters. I guess this fits pretty well with our perception of ourselves, though I still try to nuance this somewhat simple stereotype by promoting Norway as the most beautiful country in the world, full of adventure and “exotic” destinations.
