Wolfgang Petry – Verlieben, verloren, vergessen, verzeihn

His name is actually Franz Hubert Wolfgang Remling and his career started with this famous song „Wahnsinn“ in 1983. His second big success was with the song “Verlieben, verloren, vergessen, verzeihn” in 1992. Still today, people in Germany can sing along, when one of his songs is played. In February 2015 he released his comeback album. Hopefully, Wolfgang Petry will announce some concerts as well, where he will perform all his hits.

 

Helene Fischer – Atemlos durch die Nacht

Helene Fischer was born in Russia, but is one of the most famous and most popular musical and country singers in Germany. She performed her song “Atemlos durch die Nacht” at the welcoming of the German soccer team at the Brandenburg Gate after they won the world championship in 2014. Her song emerged to be a German national song which every German country lover should know.

 

Costa Cordalis – Anita 

The greek singer Costa Cordalis won many women´s hearts with his hit “Anita”. During the late 70s he was continuously in the top 10 of the German Charts. He was last seen on German TV in 2004, as he won the finale of a German reality show called “Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!” (The Jungle Camp).

 

Spider Murphy Gang – Skandal im Sperrbezirk 

The bavarian band Spider Murphy Gang counts as one of the most popular artists during the era of the “Neue Deutsche Welle”, when songs with German lyrics were popular. During this period, many German classics, which are still well known, were released.

 

Nena – 99 Luftballons 

The song was written in the 80s and is a sign of freedom during the last years of the cold war. Nena became very famous with this song and could celebrate her success in the Japanese, Mexican, Canadian and Australian charts. In March 1984 she received gold for 500.000 sold copies.

 

Klaus Lage Band – Tausend mal berührt 

The song „1001 und 1 Nacht“  is still very popular today, which everybody probably knows. It has been in the top 10 of the Charts for 22 weeks and was the singer’s most successful song in Germany. After that he worked together with other well known German musicians like Peter Maffay or the Scorpions.

 

Mathias Reim – Verdammt ich lieb dich 

The most popular song of the German country singer Mathias Reim is „Verdammt ich lieb dich“ and was released in 1990. The singer originally wrote the song for someone else, but then decided to release it himself. After being promoted by a German music show called “Hitparade” it has been in the German top 10 for 16 weeks.

 

Nickerbocker und Biene – Hallo Klaus 

This duo also became famous during the period of the “Neue Deutsche Welle” and released its big hit “Hallo Klaus”. During the 90s, the single was in the top charts in Germany. Shortly thereafter, the duo split and went their separate ways.
