Top 3 articles of July on Lexiophiles

July has been a month of renovation for bab.la and Lexiophiles. We welcomed a new member to our team of columnists, Dimitra, who wrote about the experience of doing an Erasmus exchange. We also said goodbye to Montira, Sofi and Leonie, our Lexiophiles editor. From now on I, Laís Clemente, assume the post.  I thank the girls for their contributions, and Leonie for all of her effort in keeping Lexiophiles great.

Now, let’s see which articles were the most read this month:

3rd place:
THIRD LANGUAGE ACQUISITION FOR DUMMIES (Petrine)

In this article, we explain the process of learning a third language and why it differs from the acquisition of the first two. If you are having a hard time learning language number three, I suggest you click here.

BR wax cover BR2nd place:
BRAZILIAN BIKINI WAX: 10 FACTS WE NEVER WANTED TO KNOW (Laís)

It is a trend, but it shouldn’t be an obligation. On my second Lexiophiles article I tried to demystify the Brazilian bikini wax. Why did it become so famous? If you want to find out its origins, its pros and cons, I suggest you check it out!

And if you are as fascinated by Brazilian culture as I am, you can go here.

And the number one is…

No oral intext11st place:
LICKING, SUCKING, BLOWING, SLURPING AND PULLING: ORAL SEX IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES (Petrine)

We have been a little naughty this month. Miss Petrine, our intern for Norwegian content, asked for permission to write about sex. We said she could, as long as it was language related. The result was a totally safe for work article that draws a panorama on how different societies describe oral pleasure.

This month she promises a text on how to write a click worthy article.

All the best in your language learning projects and don’t forget to check Lexiophiles. We have great things planned out for August!

Keep on loving your words,
Laís Clemente
