IX11: How the competition works

Any blogger who writes / shoots videos / podcasts about their international experience. Be it high-school exchange, student exchange, au-pair, social year abroad, expat, around-the-world travel etc. This also includes the au-pair/exchange host families. As we want to reward specific / individual people a maximum number of 5 authors per blog is permitted.

What’s the time table?

Phase 1:

Nominations (Jan 04 -Jan 16)
Users can nominate their favorite blogs by leaving a comment here or sending us an email to valerie [at] bab.la

Phase 2:

Voting (Jan 17 – Jan 26)
All nominated blogs who are eligible will be permitted to the voting phase.

Results (Jan 28)
We will publish the results on January 28th.

How does the ranking work?
We rank blogs solely according to user votes. Rest assured that our voting system saves each vote (last year we had some issues with displaying the correct percentage number).

Who can vote?
Anyone is allowed to vote once.

Can I promote my blog so that more users vote for me?
Yes, you can promote your blog amongst your friends etc.

What can I win?
The main idea behind this competition is to promote cultural exchange and a mutual understanding of each other. That said we want to show our appreciation to the best bloggers. So the top 3 bloggers will get an “education package for children” from SOS children villages sponsored by us. We think this is better than any material price there is.
